To use OFFSET with SUBTOTAL use the following format

SUBTOTAL(9,D1:OFFSET(D10,-2,0,))

and NOT

=SUBTOTAL(9,D1:(OFFSET(D10,-2,0,)))

Do not apply the bracket before the OFFSET keyword
